Brave Dot

Dot is a little ladybug. Her coat is red with black dots. The sun shines brightly. The garden is full of life. The grass is green, and the flowers are fragrant.

Csuri, the snail, crawls slowly, slowly. PLOP! A big frog, green, wet, and shiny, jumps nearby. The frog pushes him, and the leaf slips. Csuri trembles.

Dot trembles too. She speaks in a small voice, yet she says, "Stop! Don't hurt him! The leaf is Csuri's. The turn will be yours too. Wait you too."

The frog blinks, sniffles once. He says, "Good. I won't push. I sit. We wait." Csuri smiles. Dot smiles too.

The wind comes. Hop! A yellow ball appears! Pipi, the little duck, cries. The ball falls into the water. Dot is afraid of the water. It is cold and splashes.

Dot grabs a reed. She pushes the ball with it. Pushes, pushes, pushes. The ball comes out of the water. Pipi laughs. Clap-clap. Dot pants, but smiles, standing.

Dot is small. Dot is brave. Small body, big heart. The garden is quiet now. Friends are close.
